Pueblo Park, located at Buffalo and Lake Mead Blvd, connects the communities of Monterrey, La Mancha, and The Pueblo. While that may be convenient for residents, is this park also good for walkers and runners?
The answer is yes with a small asterisk. Pueblo Park is a long and skinny park, with 3 miles of paved trails. There are bathrooms at the entrance off of Lake Mead Blvd, along with a playground. But that’s the only bathroom location, so if you’re at the other end of the park and need to go, you’ve got about a mile and a half before finding relief.
Unlike many other parks, Pueblo Park has dirt trails along with the paved trail. The trails look to be intentional, so you can choose your running surface. The paved trail winds through a few picnic areas, a basketball court, playgrounds, and other amenities. It ends at Rampart. There is no access to the golf course – the course and the trail are separated by a chain link fence. However, there is easy access to the road. If you wanted to extend your run, turn south on Rampart to head towards Bruce Trent Park and Angel Park Trail.
On the east side, you can easily connect to the Lone Mountain Trail and the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex.
