Desert Breeze Park is a popular park on the west side of Las Vegas at Durango, Twain, and Desert Inn Rd. It features a playground, baseball fields, and dog runs on the south side, and large soccer fields on the north. It’s split in the middle by Spring Mountain Road. For runners, that’s important. All of these roads have pretty heavy traffic, so you need to be aware when crossing.

Desert Breeze Park is a quarter mile by a half mile, making a full loop around the two sections 1.5 miles. Two loops is your full 5K. Alternatively, you can run a loop around the southern section, a loop around the northern section, and a final loop around the southern section. Vice-versa works as well, starting by looping around the soccer fields and then around the baseball diamonds.
There are bathrooms and water fountains on-site. However, the water fountains may be turned off in the winter if the fields aren’t booked. Fountains should always be on once the risk of freezing pipes has passed.
One nice thing with this route is that you have hydration and snack options for post-run refueling. The intersection hosts a variety of shops and restaurants.
